I teach Social Emotional Learning to my classes and in an afterschool club. We always incorporate kindness, self confidence, and self management arts and crafts alongside the Social Emotional lesson. Students create the craft in school and they can take it home as a reminder to be kind and compassionate. For example, they made positive "I am" affirmation banners. When students make the arts and crafts, it creates an outlet for them to reflect the social emotional lesson and/or mindfulness practiced. The stress balls and fidget toys help my students focus and concentrate while doing academic work.
