    Thank you so much for your donation of books. This donation allowed me to expand my library and it allowed my students to read books independently and just find the simple joy of reading.

    In addition, outside of instruction, they were given the opportunity to select titles of their choosing.

    Finally, this collection ensured that my library area was inviting, students were able to find books that reflected their families, cultures, and experiences they could relate to; we are incredibly grateful!”

  • Cleaning Supplies

    Thank you so much for the cleaning supplies. When the pandemic first hit, no one knew it was coming. When they finally opened schools back up, nobody knew what was coming. Due to your generous donations of Lysol sprays when we could not find them anywhere, my colleagues and I were able to clean our classrooms and provide a safe space for our students. I was able to share my donations with many of colleagues, so from the bottom of all our hearts, thank you so much for your continued support for all the children at Jersey City Public schools.”

    My students were bored with the old books resting on my bookshelves. Your donation allowed my students to be able to not only read but enjoy what they were reading. I got the package roughly a month before COVID occurred, so while I wish I could have uploaded photos, I did not have a chance to take any.

    I allowed my students to read the books independently if they were done with work early and even allowed them to take the books home to read weekly. I will continue to use the books in the same manner when we get back to school.

Most of the novels in our school are outdated due to low funding. I want my students to be able to read old and new books in line with their interests as well as educational goals. My students participate in independent reading projects four times a year/ once a marking period. During this time, students choose a novel of their choice and complete a project related to the novel. My students would really benefit from these new-age novels. The great thing about our school is that my students are with me for three years, so by the first year, all the books have become old to them and less interesting. My students and I will be very grateful for this donation.
