Your contributions have had a direct and meaningful impact on the services we provide and the progress our students are making.\r\n\r\nThe donated materials are being used to strengthen vocabulary development, expressive and receptive language skills, and peer interactions during structured and play‑based activities. While some of the items may appear to be simple toys, they are intentional and evidence‑based tools for encouraging language growth. Through play, students naturally practice requesting, commenting, problem‑solving, turn‑taking, and social communication—skills that are essential for success both in and out of the classroom.\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to use the new materials, the two most popular were the Fox in a Box and Ball Popper. Your support has truly helped create an environment where these growing learners feel they have a special, age-appropriate place to learn and recharge.\r\nBeyond the comfort of the bean bags, the additional supplies have provided essential tools for our calming corner, helping my fourth graders navigate their emotions and return to their work with a positive mindset. At this pivotal age, having a dedicated space to self-regulate is invaluable. Once a student completes a certain amount of lessons they are able to earn a prize from our classroom prize box. This really helps incentive the students in getting their iReady minutes in. \r\n\r\nFinally, our playdough is another item we use a lot in the classroom. We use it for multiple purpose such as building sight words during centers, building numbers during math centers, and we use it for play.
