Because of your kindness, my students now have access to a wide range of hands-on academic and social-emotional learning tools that will make a meaningful difference in their daily learning experiences.\r\nYour donation provided essential literacy and writing resources, including two-sided letter tiles, magnetic journals with letter tiles, adaptive handwriting paper, raised-rule practice paper, and Handwriting Without Tears notebook paper. These materials are especially impactful for my students who struggle with fine motor skills, dysgraphia, and early literacy development. With clear visual cues and tactile supports, students can practice letter formation, spacing, and phonics skills with greater confidence and independence. One student asks me every day if we are going to practice handwriting today. He loves trying out different types of paper to see if his handwriting is better on one than on the other.\r\nThe journals and notebooks you donated give students a safe place to practice writing, express their thoughts, and build endurance. For many of my learners, writing can feel overwhelming—but having sturdy, colorful journals designed just for kids makes the task more approachable and motivating. I have kindergarteners who love having a colorful journal of their own, instead of the stapled together paper we used in the past. They can't wait to open their journals and do the days writing practice.\r\nIn addition to academic tools, your support also strengthened our social-emotional learning resources. Items such as social skills task cards, emotional regulation games, a self-regulation picture book, and SEL-focused therapy tools help students learn how to identify emotions, manage frustration, communicate effectively, and problem-solve with peers. These skills are critical for success both in and out of the classroom.\r\nYou also made it possible for students to benefit from physical self-regulation and mindfulness tools, including chair yoga cards and interactive games like Perfection. These resources provide engaging brain breaks that help students regulate their bodies, improve focus, and return to learning ready and calm.\r\nBecause of you, my students are learning through movement, play, conversation, and hands-on practice in ways that meet their individual needs. Your generosity helps create an inclusive, supportive classroom where children have the tools they need to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for investing in their success. This has been a beneficial addition to Risley's instrumentarium. \r\n\r\nAgnes Risley Elementary has spent the last few years rebuilding its instrumentarium. When I first got to this school, I was greeted with a range of fair quality (at best) to poor quality instruments. The school opened in 1964, and I was told that many of the instruments that were in my classroom were purchased in the 70s, 80s, or 90s. Many of the instruments in my inventory were damaged, or there were fundamental pieces missing. All students deserve a quality music education, which includes using quality tools to make music. I felt it was a disservice to my students to have the dilapidated instruments we had.\r\n\r\nThrough the many partnerships the Nevada Department of Education has had with DonorsChoose, Risley has been able to vastly expand its instrument inventory. First, we got lots of new unpitched percussion instruments. Then, we got a new xylophone. Now, we have these rolling carts, which makes music-making in the classroom a much more flexible experience. Thank you, NDE, for supporting music education by providing these materials to us over these years.","fullyFundedDate":1768025006743,"projectUrl":"project/rollin-xylophones/9988895/","projectTitle":"Rollin' Xylophones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Giammona","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8120878_orig.jpg?crop=827,827,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633906764173","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8120878"},{"teacherId":10403578,"projectId":10017125,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom!
