They do best when they can move around, explore, and use hands-on materials—and thanks to you, they have more opportunities to do just that.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating pillows have been a big hit! Students love having a choice in where they sit, and it helps them stay comfortable, focused, and ready to learn. It's also been great for encouraging collaboration and helping students regulate their energy throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe math manipulatives are making learning come to life. Because of your kindness, my students now have access to new books that they were truly excited to read.\r\n\r\nThe donated One Piece books have quickly become the most popular in our classroom. These texts have helped introduce and strengthen important reading skills such as comprehension, sequencing events, making predictions, identifying character traits, and using context clues to understand new vocabulary. Students are also building stamina and confidence as they read longer texts and follow storylines across multiple books.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom is active, engaging, and full of excitement. It has been amazing to watch students eagerly pick up these books, discuss their favorite characters and moments, and recommend them to classmates. Many students even wait excitedly for their classmates to finish a book so they can trade books or begin reading the next one in the series. The excitement these books have created has made reading feel fun and meaningful for many students.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with these books. Some students who were hesitant readers are now eager to read each day because they found a series they truly enjoy. In fact, some students have already read nearly two out of the four donated sets because they were so motivated to keep reading. It helps everyone have enough space and it is easy to stack up at the end of the day. \r\nIn addition, my students have been enjoying the many incentives that are offered. Your generosity has already made a lasting impact on our classroom environment. The flexible seating options, including the bean bag chairs and floor seats, have become some of the most loved spots in our room. Students eagerly choose these spaces during independent reading, partner reading, and writing time. It has been amazing to watch students settle in comfortably with their books, remain focused longer, and truly enjoy learning in a space that feels warm and welcoming. These seating choices have also helped students learn responsibility, cooperation, and how to make choices that best support their learning.\r\n\r\nThe STEAM materials have brought excitement, creativity, and teamwork into our daily routines. When the students first saw the magnetic tiles, Lincoln Logs, marble runs, and balancing game, the room filled with smiles, cheers, and so much excitement. They could not wait to begin building and exploring. One memorable moment was watching a group of students work together to design a tall tower using the marble run. When it toppled over, they did not give up. Instead, they discussed what went wrong, adjusted their plan, and rebuilt an even stronger structure. It was a wonderful example of perseverance, communication, and problem-solving in action.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these resources will remain an important part of our classroom learning. Students will use the flexible seating during reading and writing workshops to stay engaged and comfortable. The STEAM tools will support science lessons, math challenges, cooperative learning tasks, and enrichment activities that encourage creativity and critical thinking. They were definitely tired of the broken crayons I had. The students used the crayons and markers on their Nevada State reports, as well as making cards for Assistant Principals' Week and other projects/recognition to thank various stakeholders in our community. \r\n\r\nThey have also enjoyed using the cushions. They were excited to see the colors. My co-teacher had some, so now we can use similar motivations. Students can get a cushion based on Dojo points as a reward. It makes their school chairs more comfortable, but it also gives them flexibility in seating around the room. They especially like using them during reading independently in the small library, or working in a circle on the floor in group work. \r\n\r\nThe little stool is often used at the kidney table during RTI.
