Many of them asked, \"Is this really for us?\" It was such a heartwarming moment that reminded me how much children appreciate being seen and supported.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the materials daily in both whole-group instruction and small-group activities. One specific project that really brought the resources to life was during our math unit on teen numbers. The students used the new manipulatives to build and break apart numbers from 11 to 19, exploring different number combinations using base ten blocks, number cards, and magnetic ten frames. This hands-on approach helped all students—especially those who struggle—to visualize and understand the concepts more deeply. Each grade level was assigned a different clay challenge: kindergarten made baby turtles, first grade fish, second grade medals, third grade tic-tac-toe games, fourth grade clay portraits, and fifth grade human figures. \r\n\r\nAfter my classes created their clay it was time to paint. Everyone was very grateful and happy to use the brand new brushes we received from your donations. Painting in the art room creates an environment of calm for the students. I wish you could see how very focused they all become. Every detail matters to them and they show lots of dedication to their sculptures. \r\n\r\nIt is so wonderful to have donors like you helping bring joy to my students here at Iverson Elementary School! My students absolutely love the new fan scarves you sent us! They were in awe the first time I took them out for an activity. In the song video a rainbow surrounded the earth, so we created an earth out of students and encircled them with the beautiful rainbow scarves. We added some blue/white ones for the sky and two students portrayed the mountain form the song using the black/grey/white scarves. Adding the flowing color with the beautiful melody and lyrics was a very fulfilling experience for my students. Moving to the music and embracing the spirit of \"I have a dream\" using props to visually see the message come to life was amazing. I am so looking forward to incorporating these fan scarves into more musical activities in the future.
