By incorporating small rewards and interactive materials, my students are more inspired to stay focused, work collaboratively, and develop confidence in their abilities. Using interactive learning tools and challenging games, students are encouraged to earn stars for their group through teamwork and positive participation. At the end of the day, the group with the most stars is recognized, celebrating their cooperation and effort. Additionally, students who demonstrate exemplary behavior throughout the day can select a reward from our REWARD CART, receiving tangible acknowledgment of their achievements.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their excitement was evident—they were immediately drawn to the interactive games and eager to earn stars for their groups. One memorable moment was during a math challenge, when students collaborated strategically, cheered each other on, and demonstrated not only their problem-solving skills but also genuine teamwork. The SNACKD rewards helped reinforce these positive behaviors and made learning more dynamic and fun.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I am continuing to integrate these resources into our current lessons. The next steps involve using SNACKD to support our upcoming science project, where groups will track their progress, collaborate on experiments, and earn stars for creativity, participation, and teamwork. Your belief in our students has made a lasting impact that reaches far beyond the physical items you provided.\r\n\r\nThe calming corner has quickly become an essential part of our learning environment. Students come to school carrying many different emotions: excitement, worry, frustration, and sometimes stress from experiences outside the classroom. Thanks to you, they now have a safe, welcoming space where they can pause, reset, and return to learning, ready to succeed. This project has helped students understand that their emotions matter and that learning includes taking care of their minds and bodies.\r\n\r\nEach item you donated plays a meaningful role in helping students learn. The vibration plate has been especially powerful for students who need sensory input to regulate their bodies. When students feel overwhelmed or restless, a few minutes on the vibration plate helps them calm their nervous systems, improve focus, and prepare their brains for learning. Students are excited to use it, and many have shared that it helps them feel \"calm inside\" or \"ready to work again.\" Seeing students independently recognize when they need a break and use this tool appropriately has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nThe live plants and watering can have added a sense of peace and responsibility to the classroom. Students take pride in caring for the plants, learning that nurturing something living takes patience and consistency. The greenery has transformed the space into a calm, inviting area that feels safe and comforting. Many students comment on how the plants make the classroom feel happier and more relaxing, which supports concentration and emotional well-being.\r\n\r\nThe essential oils have become a gentle but effective way to create a soothing atmosphere. Soft, calming scents help students relax during transitions, independent work time, or moments of stress. Students often comment on how the space \"smells calm,\" and this sensory support has helped reduce anxiety and increase focus for many learners.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting additions for students has been the mini refrigerator stocked with healthy snacks. This has been a game-changer. When students are hungry, learning becomes extremely difficult. The refrigerator ensures that students have access to snacks that help them refuel and stay focused. Students feel cared for and supported, knowing that their basic needs are being met, and this has led to improved engagement and fewer disruptions.\r\n\r\nThe motivational neon signs bring everything together by creating a positive, encouraging environment. The bright messages remind students that they are capable, valued, and safe. Students are drawn to the signs and often read them aloud to themselves or to peers when they are feeling unsure or discouraged. These affirmations reinforce a growth mindset and help students build confidence in themselves as learners.\r\n\r\nOverall, this project has transformed our classroom culture. Students are learning not only academic skills, but also how to recognize their emotions, self-regulate, and advocate for their needs. Teachers benefit as well, as a calmer classroom allows for deeper learning and stronger relationships. Your generosity has created a ripple effect of positivity, confidence, and emotional safety that will continue to impact students for years to come.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for making \"Find Your Calm\" a reality. The new pencil sharpener has already become a quiet hero in our room. Students no longer interrupt lessons with broken pencils or frustration. One morning during a writing block, I watched a student calmly sharpen their pencil and return to work without losing focus, something that used to derail their confidence and attention. Small moments like this now happen smoothly and independently throughout the day.\r\n\r\nThe pencils you provided ensure that every student comes to class ready to learn. There's no anxiety about not having supplies or feeling embarrassed to ask. Students can jump right into math problem-solving, writing responses, and partner work without barriers, which has noticeably increased engagement and productivity.\r\n\r\nThe healthy snacks have made an immediate impact as well. During a recent afternoon lesson, students who typically struggle to stay focused were able to regulate their energy and fully participate after having a snack. One student shared, \"I can think better when I'm not hungry,\" which perfectly captures the importance of this support.","fullyFundedDate":1768944237656,"projectUrl":"project/sustaining-learning-through-classroom-es/10023543/","projectTitle":"Sustaining Learning Through Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sherman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp317315_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758917858405","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/317315"},{"teacherId":8129976,"projectId":7984351,"letterContent":"Your donations towards my Pre K autism class.
