Just this morning, I took a group of third grade students outside to plant mammoth sunflower seeds using their new kid-sized hand shovels. They carefully dug into the soil, placed each seed with intention, and covered them with excitement and pride, fully engaged in the learning process.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were absolutely ecstatic. Their eyes lit up as they explored the gloves, tools, and seeds, eager to begin. It was clear right away that this project sparked a sense of ownership and enthusiasm that is hard to replicate in a traditional classroom setting.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue to care for the garden by watering, monitoring growth, and learning about plant life cycles. It also helped them with identifying the numbers since there was one on the bike.\r\n\r\nThe materials were used during their gross motor outside time. Students started to use the pedals to move the tricycles instead of just their feet.
