Basketball helps students maintain high physical fitness and instills vital traits such as leadership, communication, and concentration skills. In middle school basketball helps students create a team environment which also leads to students maintaining good grades and provides one with access to higher learning opportunities. It is an escape from everyday routine and gives the children an incentive to move forward with academics and release stress. Basketball helps students build social skills they can use on and off the court. This will be after school and give the students further incentive to be productive during the day.
