With these resources, my students are able to build skills such as expanding their vocabulary and reading comprehension through auditory processing instead of relying on an image on a screen by listening to books on the Tonies box. This way of engaging in books also allows for them to be imaginative as they listen through this screen-free medium, as well as increasing their attention span and focus through active listening. \r\nAdditionally, they are able to build skills like connecting letters to sound, which are crucial pre reading skills. The Tonies box also gives them the opportunity to record their own stories, providing a means for independent story telling. These resources have created a more inclusive and engaging environment for all learners, especially those who benefit from gentle movement during lessons.\r\n\r\nWe've already incorporated the new seating into our daily routines. During whole-group, small-group, and independent work time, students now rotate between the wobble chairs, stools, and yoga balls. They are learning how to choose the seating that helps them focus best and use it respectfully. I've seen more on-task behavior, improved posture, and greater participation. Students are not just learning academics, but also learning how to self-regulate and make choices that support their success.
