The introduction of the calm-down corners and the new student incentives has truly transformed our third-grade environment. Third grade is a pivotal year where academic and social expectations ramp up, and having a dedicated, safe space for students to regulate their emotions has made a world of difference. Instead of letting frustration escalate, my students are learning to recognize when they need a moment to breathe, utilize the calm-down tools, and independently reset before returning to their work. It has fostered a sense of emotional maturity and self-awareness that is beautiful to witness in children this age.\r\n\r\nIn tandem with the calm-down spaces, the new incentive program has injected a wonderful burst of positive energy into our daily routine. The students are highly motivated, actively cheering each other on, and taking immense pride in earning rewards for their hard work and kindness. This combination of emotional support and positive reinforcement has drastically reduced classroom disruptions and created a joyful, focused learning atmosphere where every student feels capable of succeeding. Your kindness has given these children the tools they need to thrive both emotionally and academically, and we are profoundly grateful for your investment in our classroom community!","fullyFundedDate":1699206295586,"projectUrl":"project/calm-down-corner-and-classroom-incentive/7992824/","projectTitle":"Calm-Down Corner and Classroom Incentives","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Woods","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7896917_orig.jpg?crop=1440,1440,x0,y24&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1634423998545","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7896917"},{"teacherId":7273802,"projectId":10195859,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity and support of our classroom garden project! My students gathered around eagerly as we unpacked each item, cheering and asking questions about what we would grow and explore together.\r\n\r\nThe jumbo magnifiers quickly became a classroom favorite as students examined seeds, soil, leaves, and tiny details they had never noticed before. The see-through sprouting window has sparked so much curiosity as students eagerly check each day to watch roots and sprouts grow. Our planting pots, humidity domes, labels, and flower pots have already helped transform our classroom into a hands-on learning space where students are becoming little gardeners and scientists.\r\n\r\nThe seed packs have opened up wonderful conversations about vegetables, flowers, pollinators, butterflies, bees, and caring for the environment. Students are especially excited to grow zinnias, milkweed, and sunflowers to help attract butterflies and pollinators to our garden space. The painting rocks have also inspired creativity as students design colorful garden decorations and kindness stones for our outdoor area.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, my students are learning through exploration, observation, creativity, and hands-on experiences that they will remember for years to come. The technology in our classroom is helping students connect their learning to real life skills. What has been most exciting is seeing how much ownership students have taken. They genuinely enjoy labeling their work and helping keep our classroom organized. Your contributions have made a meaningful difference in our students' daily learning environment, and I would love to share the impact with you.\r\n\r\nThe organizers you provided have transformed the way our classroom functions. Students now have designated spaces to store their books and school supplies, which has helped them stay organized, independent, and responsible. They are able to quickly access their materials without confusion, allowing us to maximize our instructional time. As a teacher, this has also lifted a huge weight—I no longer have to worry about misplaced supplies or managing clutter, and instead can focus more fully on teaching and supporting my students.\r\n\r\nOur students especially love having a place to keep books they enjoy reading during their free time. That spark of excitement instantly shifted the energy in the room, turning a standard afternoon into a celebration of learning and self regulation.\r\n\r\nNow that we have these foundational tools in place, our next step is to dive deeper into verbalizing a need for the tools. Students' faces lit up with joy and wonder as they explored each item. There were smiles, laughter, and a sense of eagerness that filled the room.
