Fifth-grade mathematics expects the students to understand multi-digit multiplication and division with whole numbers and decimal numbers. Many of my students still struggle with the basic facts and are working on developing their understanding of multiplication and division with whole numbers. Therefore, once we start working with decimals it becomes extremely challenging. These manipulatives help students make connections to abstract mathematical concepts. \r\n\r\nUsing the KP Ten-Frame Tiles is really helping the students understand the concepts of decimals in general and specifically with multiplying and dividing decimals. Students who struggle with place value are also developing a deeper understanding of that concept as well. \r\n\r\nAgain, I want to thank you for your very generous donations.
