These activities provide natural opportunities for meaningful discourse as students describe their ideas, listen to different perspectives, and build on one another's thinking.\r\n\r\nThe BOB Books have been especially helpful during literacy centers. Students read independently or with a partner, practice decoding and fluency, and discuss the characters and events in their stories. Students are excited to recommend books to one another and share what they have learned.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue using these resources during centers and small-group instruction while students strengthen their reading, speaking, listening, and collaboration skills. When the noise gets too loud, the red light flashes and the alarm sounds, giving students a quick reminder to lower their voices without the teacher having to stop the lesson.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching students start monitoring themselves. Instead of waiting for me to tell them to be quieter, they began noticing the red light and reminding themselves and their classmates to lower their voices. This has helped us spend less time correcting noise levels and more time moving, playing, and learning!\r\n\r\nAs we continue our PE lessons, students will keep practicing self-management and working together to create an environment where everyone can hear directions and participate.
