When the materials arrived, my students' faces lit up with pure excitement. They couldn't wait to explore every activity. Watching them dive into our garden centers with such enthusiasm reminded me why I became a teacher, their joy was absolutely contagious!\r\nThroughout our garden study, I witnessed incredible growth in my little learners. They counted seeds with careful concentration, explored plant life cycles with wonder-filled eyes, and built their vocabulary as they discovered new words like \"roots,\" \"soil,\" and \"harvest.\" The fine motor activities strengthened their little hands while the STEM challenges encouraged them to think like scientists. Every single resource you provided gave them meaningful ways to learn through play, and they asked to visit the garden centers every single day.\r\nThank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in my students and investing in their education. Your contribution has enabled the integration of high-quality resources that are already transforming the way my students engage with the curriculum. One particularly meaningful moment was observing students who typically demonstrate hesitation become active participants, contributing thoughtful insights and demonstrating increased academic confidence. When the materials were first introduced, students responded with genuine enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity, eager to explore and interact with the new tools at their disposal.\r\n\r\nYour investment has not only enriched our current instruction but has also laid the groundwork for continued academic growth. Moving forward, students will build upon this foundation by engaging in more rigorous, application-based projects that emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world connections. There's something about the novelty of opening a fresh package—the crinkle of the plastic, the clean, blank boards, and the neatly stacked cards—that instantly builds excitement in the room. You can hear the buzz of anticipation as they wonder what we'll practice and how they'll get to use the materials. Even students who are usually hesitant become eager to participate, ready to read, write, erase, and try again without the pressure of making a permanent mistake.\r\n\r\nOnce the materials are in their hands, engagement skyrockets. Students love the quick pace and interactive nature of using dry erase boards to show their thinking, and flashcards turn practice into something that feels more like a game than work. Their current favorite \"game\" is Beat Your Score, where they get a minute to get as many answers correct and then another minute to beat that score. They enjoy working with each other, building both confidence and fluency in a low-stakes way. The ability to immediately correct and revise their answers helps reinforce learning while keeping frustration low.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students are to build independence and deepen their use of these tools. They will begin creating their own flashcards based on skills we're learning, which encourages ownership and reinforces understanding. With dry erase reading passages, they'll move up in levels as they become proficient at answering questions. Ultimately, these tools will continue to support active participation while helping students take greater responsibility for their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1768399845401,"projectUrl":"project/dry-erase-learning/9988383/","projectTitle":"Dry Erase Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Davis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5793405_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1548642423140","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wynndavis"},{"teacherId":6309609,"projectId":10012641,"letterContent":"Books about animals had a powerful impact on my students by sparking curiosity which carried over into their animal writing. As we explored animals, students became deeply engaged in learning about habitats, behaviors, and how to care for living things. They eagerly shared connections, asked thoughtful questions, and even began to see themselves as responsible caretakers of animals. These experiences laid a strong foundation for building both literacy skills and compassion.\r\n\r\nSupplies for our classroom pet brought learning to life in a tangible and memorable way. When students saw the new bedding and food, they were thrilled and immediately interested in helping. They took ownership of responsibilities, worked together to ensure the pet was cared for properly, and showed pride in maintaining its environment. This hands-on experience reinforced lessons from our reading while also building teamwork and responsibility. Students frequently checked on the pet to see what has been eaten or used, asked questions about its needs, and demonstrated genuine care, showing how impactful experiential learning can be.\r\n\r\nClassroom materials like folders, batteries, and a camera also played an important role in enhancing our learning environment. The classroom was excited to organize work with new folders, since the old ones were ripped. Batteries ensured that our classroom flashlights stayed functional during Flashlight Friday, an exciting time to read. The addition of a camera was especially exciting—students loved documenting their work, capturing moments with the classroom pet, and creating visual records of their learning. Moving forward, students will use these materials to deepen their learning by creating projects, reflecting on their experiences, and continuing to build independence and responsibility in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1768800435386,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-supplies/10012641/","projectTitle":"Classroom Supplies!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pratus","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6309609_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753109204171","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6309609"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55318","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":706,"numTeachers":53,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":67,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":1,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":45.6,"schoolId":55318,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Elaine Wynn Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Elaine Wynn Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nevada/clark-county-school-district/elaine-wynn-elementary-school/55318"}
