We're using the pencil cases to help each child keep their own set of crayons and pencils organized at their desks. The testing dividers (those portable little privacy folders) are perfect for independent work time or quick assessments, giving kids a cozy and focused spot without distractions. But the real stars are the small group center materials for letter identification, CVC words, and numbers. I've set up rotating stations where small groups of 4-5 kids work together on hands-on activities like building CVC words, sorting pictures by beginning sounds, or using number manipulatives to practice counting and simple addition.\r\nOne specific moment that stands out was during our CVC word center last week. We had a group working on short \"a\" words like \"cat,\" \"hat,\" and \"map.\" The kids were so proud when they sounded out and built the words themselves, then matched them to picture cards. \r\nWhen the materials first arrived and I unpacked them in front of the class, the excitement was off the charts! The kids' eyes got huge, and there was this collective gasp followed by a wave of \"Wow!\" and \"Can we use them now?!\" They were bouncing in their seats, crowding around to touch the bright new pencil cases and peek inside the center bins. Several shouted \"Thank you!\" without me even prompting them. \r\nRight now, we're deep into our phonics and math units, and the next steps build directly on these new tools. We'll keep rotating through the small group centers a few times a week, gradually introducing more challenging CVC words and adding simple sentence-building with the words they master. For numbers, we're expanding to teen numbers and basic patterns using the manipulatives in the centers. The plan is to use the dividers more for differentiated \"quiet work\" during whole-group transitions, so kids who finish early can practice independently without interrupting others. These materials will help us keep the momentum going as we head toward stronger reading fluency and number sense by the end of the year. Thank you again to everyone who made this possible as your support is truly lighting up our classroom every day!","fullyFundedDate":1768678019715,"projectUrl":"project/kindergarten-classroom-supplies/10017920/","projectTitle":"Kindergarten Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Getkin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8158825_orig.jpg?crop=1476,1476,x416,y121&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1635989458929","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8158825"},{"teacherId":10404115,"projectId":10019662,"letterContent":"I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for providing the money to help pay for the materials my students are enjoying so much.
