The phonics materials will help my students with foundational skills and help them become stronger readers RF.2.3 and RF.2.3a (know and apply grade level phonics and word recognition). The math materials will help my students with their basic math skills 2.OA.A (represent and solve one and two digit problems using addition and subtraction) and 2.NBT.B (adding and subtracting within 100 using strategies like place value). Many students are 1 to 2 grade levels behind because of COVID and these reading and math resources will help fulfill the learning gap in a fun and engaging way. I believe in the abilities of all my students and these needed resources will help create a positive learning environment for my diverse learners.
