When we receive the package especially the printer, we immediately open and used it. I let the kids load some papers on it so we can print colorful engaging materials to use because they love coloring. When the students first receive the project materials like bags, pens and notebooks, their reaction were filled with excitement and curiosity. Most of them smiled widely, immediately opening the materials and touching it with eagerness. Some express joy by saying \"Is this for us?\" Their eyes lit up as they explore the colorful printer and interactive resources inside the package. The dominant emotions that I observe to my student were happiness, excitement, curiosity and motivation. The first afternoon the supplies arrived, students helped sort sketchbooks, paints, and markers with real excitement. One student said, \"These are actually nice.\" That statement mattered. It signaled dignity. During our first project, students designed visual narratives that connected personal identity to academic goals. They planned drafts, revised designs, and presented final pieces to peers. Engagement remained high throughout the session. No one asked to leave early. Snacks were placed on a side table, and students quietly refueled before working. Focus improved immediately. Conversations shifted from \"I'm tired\" to \"Can I add another layer to this?\"\r\n\r\nWe are using the materials to reinforce core academic skills. In a recent lesson, students created mixed-media infographics that explained a math or literacy concept they struggled with. They had to research, outline key ideas, and visually represent the content with accuracy. This required critical thinking, organization, and revision. Students who typically hesitate to participate volunteered to share their work. The healthy snacks have also changed the tone of our sessions. Behavior issues have decreased. Students stay longer. They complete assignments before leaving. Energy levels remain stable, which allows us to push for deeper thinking and higher expectations.\r\n\r\nNext, students will begin a collaborative design challenge focused on career exploration and goal-setting. They will use the art supplies to prototype solutions to real-world problems in our community. We will integrate reflection journals to strengthen writing skills and metacognition. The snacks will continue to remove a basic barrier, allowing students to sustain effort. Your support did more than fund materials. It strengthened attendance, persistence, and confidence. Students now see after-school as a place to grow, create, and succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1768716997949,"projectUrl":"project/student-success-necessities/10034704/","projectTitle":"Student Success Necessities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Thompson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5635053_orig.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1551470449626","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/madamethompson"},{"teacherId":5622530,"projectId":10002857,"letterContent":"This project has already initiated great motivation for my students! Instead of trying to remember how many times a behavior occurred at the end of the day, an iPad allows for point-of-contact recording. Understanding why a behavior happens is key to supporting a student. iPads make it easy to log the \"ABC\" chain. \r\n\r\nThe most powerful part of digital behavior data is the ability to instantly turn raw notes into visual charts.
