Scope Magazine will promote most of the NVACS standards for reading literature and reading informational text. We will be focusing heavily on RL9.1 and RI9.1, citing the most effective textual evidence. In addition, the writing prompts and discussion topics from Scope will cover standards W9.2 (writing informative texts) and SL9.1c ("Propel conversations by posing and responding to questions that relate the current discussion to broader themes or larger ideas"). The headphones will be used by students who cannot afford their own. They will use them with their Chromebooks to experience Scope's video and audio resources.
