My older students can ride in the front and pedal the tricycle while the younger students who aren't able to pedal yet can sit in the back and go for a ride as well. All of my students need extra help to master the skills necessary to participate in classroom activities.\r\n\r\nThe materials requested and received allow my students to work on early reading, writing and math skills in a variety of ways. They work on letter and number identification skills with magnetic letters and stainless steel trays. They are learning to spell words and make changes to those words to make new words. The treasure box items provide incentives to work hard and maintain their best behavior.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived in the classroom, the students were so excited. I told them we needed to wait until I could get a picture of the materials, then we could start using them. Since my students have special needs, and are on IEPs, I am unable to photograph them. The various games have kept the students engaged in the material while also offering opportunities for enrichment and outside the box thinking as they design new tasks to complete. \r\n The Q-Ball microphone has been a game changer for my students who are more shy in front of their peers. The squishy ball design gives them comfort while they are holding it and the projection of their voice carries throughout the entire room. The students are focusing on learning about fiction and non-fiction. We are encouraging them to check out non-fiction to learn facts and information. Our students are in kindergarten first and second grade. They are new to reading. We focus on encouraging them to love the library. We encourage them to love books and reading. Reading directly impacts their classroom skills These new books would be a great addition for our students to enjoy and grow. The new bookshelf keeps our classroom library neat and inviting, and I've noticed students spending more time browsing and choosing books independently.
