Your donations truly have made an impact on my students' transition back to school this year and their sense of belonging and comfort in my room.\r\n\r\nDuring the first week of school, my students complete an \"investigate the classroom\" activity, which prompts them to use historical thinking skills (like inferencing and contextualizing) to find \"clues\" in the classroom to illuminate what we might learn in class and who I am, as a teacher and a human. The overwhelming majority pointed out something from this project -- whether the soft lighting, drawer of healthy snacks, flexible seating, bookshelf of relevant reads, or colorful rugs -- and inferred that I am a teacher who cares about the well-being and happiness of my students and genuinely wants them to succeed. While all of that is true, I'm grateful that my students were able to immediately pick up on my commitment to investing in them, which would not have been possible without your investment in me and my classroom.
