The growth mindset books were used at the beginning of the year to introduce students in grades K-8 to the idea that it is ok to struggle with something, it is ok to take risks knowing you might fail the first time, and that a mistake can be an amazing opportunity for learning and growth.\r\n\r\nThis growth mindset has been evident in the positive attitudes my 4th grade students have had about learning algebra with the Hands-On Equations materials. They are learning about the addition property of equality, the subtraction property of equality, the distributive property, and other challenging mathematical concepts.
