It allowed us to capture brainstorming sessions, prototyping, and testing from all angles, giving judges a comprehensive view of the collaborative effort behind our project. The footage added a layer of authenticity and professionalism to our submission, helping us tell our story in a way that stood out from traditional video formats.\r\n\r\nBeyond just documentation, the 360° camera also inspired students to think more creatively about presentation and storytelling. They took ownership of the filming process, planning scenes that would showcase their work and voice from multiple perspectives. This not only enhanced their communication skills but also gave them a deeper sense of pride and accomplishment. Ultimately, the camera helped us highlight the innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving that defined our project—contributing directly to our winning entry in the state competition.","fullyFundedDate":1733152443834,"projectUrl":"project/a-360-camera-for-virtual-reality-creati/8719747/","projectTitle":"A 360 Camera for Virtual Reality Creation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Akane","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9340352_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724600451122","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-akane"},{"teacherId":9340352,"projectId":8944591,"letterContent":"The K2 Reality 3D printer has been a game-changer for my middle school design and modeling class, transforming the way students bring their ideas to life. This hands-on experience has helped deepen their understanding of design principles, spatial reasoning, and the engineering design process. It has also sparked greater engagement, as students see their creativity materialize layer by layer in real time.\r\n\r\nThe 3D printer has also encouraged more iterative thinking. With fresh resources available, students have been able to fully engage in hands-on learning activities that support creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration. For younger students, the ability to build and rebuild using LEGO sets has strengthened their fine motor skills and spatial reasoning. Older students, meanwhile, have used these materials to prototype real-world solutions in robotics and simple engineering projects, which deepens their understanding of STEM concepts through active experimentation.\r\n\r\nHaving consistent access to consumable materials like batteries has also allowed students to test their designs and bring their ideas to life without interruption. It has encouraged a cycle of trial, error, and improvement, which is essential to developing a growth mindset. For younger students, these materials introduce foundational concepts like problem-solving, creativity, and basic structural design through activities such as building simple machines, bridges, and prototypes. These early experiences foster curiosity and critical thinking, setting the stage for more advanced engineering exploration. For middle school students, the materials enable deeper engagement with engineering principles, encouraging them to apply concepts such as forces, stability, and mechanical design in more complex projects. Whether constructing models, testing design solutions, or refining their builds through trial and error, students are developing real-world problem-solving abilities and gaining confidence in their ability to think like engineers.
