I made a Google form where the students could choose the color of the mute they wanted, and I would print it for them. The 3D printer has already made a huge difference for some of my trumpet and trombone players. Some of my students are not able to practice at their homes because of the loud volume of a brass instrument. They may disturb parents, siblings, neighbors, etc. The mutes allow them to practice at about 90% quieter volume. The parents and guardians of these students are so excited that their young musicians now have this option. \r\n\r\nIn the future, I plan on expanding what we can print for all of the instruments. We have already test printed ligatures for the clarinets and saxes. Beginning flutes are going to get some snap-on accessories to help them with their holding technique when they are starting. We have also made pencil holders for the music stands.
