My reading intervention classroom at Ritenour Middle School welcomes diverse groups of 6th - 8th grade middle schoolers who attend the the 2nd most diverse school district in Missouri (Niche, 2019) with approximately 75% of students qualifying for free & reduced lunch. Students in my classroom create a strong community of support for each other through our shared reading experiences. They all have experienced various struggles with reading throughout their lives and are discovering that with the right books and increasing the amount of time they spend reading & practicing each day they DO improve!
