This allows easy access for my para and I to update parents on the students, hand out monthly school updates, and forms for parents. Students are always excited when they come in and know to put their folders up. \r\nMeanwhile the markers allows for them to do name activities each day together as a class. The Mifoci 15 Pcs Activity Plastic Art Trays allows for mess free painting for students and teachers. With having 15 this allows for many different activities to done the same day, or throughout the weeks.\r\nMeanwhile the Washable Crayons 120ct and School Smart BioFiber No. 2 Pencils are used by the student in the art centers, and during class coloring when students are missing certain colors. The crayons allow for many different shades of colors for all forty students to explore and experiment with.\r\nWithout these items the classes would still be disorganized, lessen materials, and less opportunities for students to make and explore with art. In small group, I am introducing the idea of emotions and feelings. We learn about our own feelings, but we also discuss how others feel. Social/emotional awareness is key to building safe friendships at school. \r\n\r\nThe social emotional song book has greatly impacted my students that may not have the words to express themselves. Many of my non-verbal students will participate in songs as a form of communication. I am also able to use the songs to reinforce positive behavior. For example, when I see a friend using gentle hands, I will start singing the gentle hands song. This helps them understand their action as positive. I was also able to use the invisible string book in the very beginning of the year to help with separation anxiety. I am so excited to utilize these tools throughout the year! My students have also enjoyed getting to care for the multicultural baby dolls. being able to care for the dolls help the student build empathy and explore how love and care should be shown to a child\r\n\r\nThe feeling chart has been a great way for my students to express their emotions when they are struggling to use their words. we have been able to incorporate it in several large group lesson and well as using it with individual students when they are in a moment of heightened emotions to facilitate coming down. The cart has helped to expand the students emotional vocabulary and have given them additional tools to navigating their emotions. the books have helped to support theses conversations in the classroom. \r\n\r\nthe science kit has been so exciting for the students to learn from in a small group setting they have gotten to learn so much about how the world works and practice asking questions. They are becoming so good at looking at photos of ideas for inspiration and building them into their own creations. The tree house is so fun and the pieces have taught them how to use their problem solving skills to make them work.\r\nThey are also learning to work together, share, and problem solve. The community sets like the train, farm, and racetrack are teaching them about parts of a community that we don't have here in Joplin. I am so thankful that these sets are engaging and interactive and allow them to learn so many skills while playing. The day after my materials arrived, I grabbed my copy of \"Froggy Goes to the Doctor\" so I could model how different items in the doctor's kit were to be used. I was completely unsurprised that the syringe was the favorite. \r\n We also have used the doctor's kit in conjunction with my \"parts of the body\" felt board to learn about our bodies and what part of our bodies need which tool. \r\n I was equally excited to introduce the tempera cakes to my youngsters. It took a surprising amount of effort to get even a little paint on the paper.
