A light table will encourage my students to engage and stay focused on content areas such as science and math. I have noticed that while they are energetic and excited to be at school, they tend to lose focus after a few short minutes. I believe I will be able to rotate them through the centers more evenly with a light table. We will have the opportunity to explore the properties of the objects and colors and compare and contrast with and without light. The students will be allowed to count, sort, measure and manipulate the objects. They will be able to see, feel, and touch them. While the children are excited to be at school once there, some have a difficult time leaving their parents as they are still in preschool. I plan to place the light table by the door where they are dropped off.
