We even get to take the books home to read to our family for extra practice. \r\n\r\nWe are also so excited to use the modal magic clay to create characters at the end of our character trait unit. They eagerly watched as I unpacked the beakers, cylinders, and microscope, asking what experiments they could try first. It was incredible to see their curiosity come alive as they carefully measured liquids in graduated cylinders and weighed objects on the compact scales. One of our first activities was exploring cellular respiration. Students compared how long it took water mixed with bromothymol blue to change color once the CO2 from our breath was introduced. They were thrilled to see science concepts that once seemed abstract take shape right before them.\r\n\r\nThese resources have transformed our classroom into a true hands-on lab space. Students are not just reading about science, they are doing science. From measuring water to preparing slides for the microscope, they are practicing the skills of inquiry, precision, and collaboration every day. Their enthusiasm has sparked deeper questions and richer discussions, and they are already brainstorming new experiments they want to try. Thanks to your generosity, my students now have the tools they need to explore, discover, and fall even more in love with science.","fullyFundedDate":1751909843017,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-minds-on-science-in-action/9266448/","projectTitle":"Hands-On, Minds-On Science in Action!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wilford","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9618322"},{"teacherId":9990094,"projectId":9224134,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for providing my students with such wonderful books. These books were ones that were aligned to the reading abilities of my first grade students. They gained confidence by reading these books and they began asking to read them over and over again. It was evident that they were feeling successful!\r\nWe utilized these books at my small group reading table, where students were introduced to a new decodable book each Friday. After they read the book to me, they were able to put it in their classroom book keeper, if they wanted. My students were so impressed with themselves that they couldn't wait to get out their book keepers and read them again! We incorporated weekly peer reading time, where students were able to take turns reading their books with a classmate.\r\nThese decodable books will be used for many, many years to come. The headphones set I was able to receive from this project have already been used by students who otherwise would not have their own set of headphones to use to listen to books and engage in our online literacy resources. Thank you so much for bringing my project to life.","fullyFundedDate":1744290648156,"projectUrl":"project/buzzing-about-books/9224134/","projectTitle":"Buzzing About Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Book","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9990094_orig.png?crop=166,166,x14,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743818032027","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mbook-1st"},{"teacherId":2540023,"projectId":9200388,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting the reading that occurs in our classroom.
