My first grade students are from a rural community with varied backgrounds who come to our Title 1 school eager to learn. While a few students have electronic devices at home, many do not. Additionally, our school does not have a computer lab for our students to access. For my students to have the skill set needed to compete with their peers for jobs and other opportunities, they need the chance to become savvy in the world of technology. This needs to begin when students are young and eager to try new things. Technology will no doubt be an incredibly important part of their life but they need to start learning it now to keep up with the constantly changing world.
