With the new class set of headphones and microphones, my students now have the opportunity to practice all four domains of English—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—using interactive programs that adapt to their individual levels. This practice is vital as they work toward both English proficiency and meeting the same academic standards as their native English-speaking peers.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have also helped reduce distractions and create a more focused environment for language practice. Students can work independently at their own pace while I provide targeted support—something that wasn't possible before. These tools are especially helpful as we prepare for state tests that are required for graduation.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the ability to hear and record themselves speaking English. It's been a game-changer for their confidence. Many were shy or hesitant to speak up in class, but now they feel more comfortable practicing out loud. The instant feedback from the programs we use helps them self-correct and grow faster than ever.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular, who came to the U.S. just a few months ago with very limited English, has shown tremendous progress using the new tools. She went from struggling to complete basic tasks to now reading along with audio lessons and recording herself with ease. Her smile when she realized how much she'd improved said it all.\r\n\r\nThe Teachers Pay Teachers resources you helped fund have also made a huge impact. They allow me to provide scaffolded materials tailored to each student's needs in content areas like science, math, and social studies—helping them access grade-level content while still building English skills.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed. Thank you for believing in them—and in me. Your kindness has directly impacted 100 students this year and will continue to help many more in the future.","fullyFundedDate":1733283474655,"projectUrl":"project/bridging-the-language-gap/8596352/","projectTitle":"Bridging the Language Gap","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. M.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2813692_orig.jpg?crop=481,481,x0,y48&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724025703968","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2813692"},{"teacherId":5374953,"projectId":8900961,"letterContent":"My young ladies were so excited to receive feminine products. Thanks to your support, we've been able to create a reward system that has made a huge difference in motivating my students. With the new snacks and goodies, students now have a tangible way to see the rewards of their hard work and good behavior. Whether it's using the items to buy snacks and rewards for completing classroom jobs or saving up for special materials to enhance their projects, these materials have sparked a new level of excitement and responsibility in the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the snacks, pens, and candy available for earning, their faces lit up with excitement. Many of them immediately began setting goals for how they would work towards earning their rewards, showing a level of self-motivation that we hadn't seen before. It's been incredible to watch them take ownership of their behavior and their classroom jobs. They are now more engaged in daily tasks and excited to contribute, knowing that their efforts have a direct and meaningful payoff. They look forward to Fridays when I open the store! \r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to continue using this system as a way to reinforce positive behaviors and reward students for fulfilling their classroom responsibilities. In our upcoming lessons, students will continue to earn coins for completing tasks like helping to organize materials or assisting their peers, and they'll have the opportunity to use their points for rewards that help them stay engaged and focused. Your support has helped us create a positive, goal-driven environment, and we can't wait to see how this system continues to empower our students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity—it's making a real difference in our classroom and helping my students develop important skills for their future success.","fullyFundedDate":1726699282256,"projectUrl":"project/teaching-financial-literacy-and-building/8513943/","projectTitle":"Teaching Financial Literacy and Building a Classroom Economy","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tosto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1538950_orig.png?crop=1228,1228,x194,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1593042703131","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1538950"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_12643","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1117,"numTeachers":61,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":48,"percentWhite":27,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"18.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":44.6,"schoolId":12643,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pascagoula High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pascagoula High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/mississippi/pascagoula-gautier-school-district/pascagoula-high-school/12643"}
