Yearbook is a class that is a combination of skills that no other class offers. Students gain life long experiences in creativity, interpersonal skills, design and self management. Photography is an area of creativity that goes beyond yearbook. We are requesting a the Sigma EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM AutoFocus Telephoto Zoom Lens to capture the memories of our year with outstanding photographs. In our area, the importance of photographs is truly taken to heart as many families lost precious photographs during Hurricane Katrina. In the age of selfies and cell phones, getting behind a DSLR taps into the innate urge to capture life, from school dances to tragedy. Learning to use a DSLR with better lenses allows my students capture these moments from a distance without being invasive.
