Since introducing these materials into our classroom, we have already seen such a positive impact on student learning, participation, and excitement throughout the day. The students are eager to learn, collaborate, and explore in ways that feel meaningful and fun to them.\r\n\r\nRecently, we started implementing WIN Time small group centers in our classroom. During this time, students rotate through a variety of hands-on CVC word activities that help strengthen their early reading and phonics skills. These activities allow students to practice building, reading, and identifying CVC words in engaging and interactive ways. Instead of simply completing worksheets or listening to instruction, students are actively involved in their learning through games, manipulatives, sorting activities, and collaborative learning opportunities. It has been amazing to watch students become more confident and excited while practicing these important foundational skills.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting parts of introducing these new materials has been seeing how motivated the students are to participate. Students who may normally struggle to stay focused during independent work are now eager to join centers and actively engage with their peers. The hands-on approach allows students to move, touch, build, and explore while learning, which has made a huge difference in both their attention and overall enthusiasm. Many students look forward to WIN Time each day and often ask when they will get to rotate to the next activity.\r\n\r\nThe new activities have also encouraged teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills within our classroom. Students are learning how to work together, take turns, support one another, and celebrate each other's successes. It has created such a positive learning environment where students feel excited to try new things and challenge themselves academically. Watching students smile, laugh, and feel proud of their accomplishments during these centers has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, it has been so exciting to see how much these materials have transformed our classroom environment in such a short amount of time. The students are more engaged, more confident, and more willing to take risks in their learning. These activities are helping create meaningful learning experiences that students truly enjoy while also strengthening essential literacy skills that will support them throughout their educational journey.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity, kindness, and support of our classroom. Your donation has provided our students with new opportunities to learn through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. We truly appreciate your support and the difference you are making in the lives of our students each and every day.","fullyFundedDate":1778093365533,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-phonics-for-kindergarten-succes/10029897/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Phonics for Kindergarten Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lallier","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5797446_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1539046105726","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5797446"},{"teacherId":9678344,"projectId":9584753,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, students at our school now have access to a safe, calming space where they can pause, reset, and care for their social and emotional well being. Before implementing these activities, mornings could be hectic, with students rushing in, trying to transition from home to school, and struggling to focus right away. Now, each day begins with a hands-on STEM challenge that captures students' curiosity, encourages collaboration, and builds confidence. This \"soft start\" gives students time to settle in, think creatively, and problem-solve together before diving into our core lessons. The change has been remarkable: students arrive excited, motivated, and ready to engage in learning.\r\n\r\nThe Soft Start STEM Activities have helped students develop important skills in ways that go beyond academics. Each activity encourages critical thinking, persistence, and teamwork. Students learn to communicate their ideas, test hypotheses, and learn from mistakes in a low-pressure, supportive environment. These early morning challenges also allow students to take ownership of their learning, make choices, and explore concepts at their own pace. For some students who struggle with anxiety or transitions, starting the day with hands-on STEM activities provides a safe, predictable routine that helps them feel grounded and ready to learn. It has been incredible to see students who often feel rushed or overwhelmed in the morning become calm, focused, and confident as they work through each activity.\r\n\r\nThe collaborative nature of the activities has also strengthened our classroom community. Students naturally work in pairs or small groups, discussing ideas, sharing strategies, and celebrating successes together. These moments foster empathy, patience, and respect as students learn to listen to each other, compromise, and problem-solve as a team. Over time, I've noticed that students are more willing to participate in class discussions, help one another, and support each other's learning. The sense of accomplishment they gain from completing these early challenges carries over into the rest of the day, positively impacting behavior, engagement, and overall classroom culture.\r\n\r\nAnother powerful aspect of the Soft Start STEM Activities is that they make learning joyful. Students approach each activity with excitement and curiosity, eager to explore and experiment. They are proud of their creations, solutions, and discoveries, which builds self-confidence and reinforces a growth mindset. By starting the day with success, students are more resilient when facing challenges later in the day, more motivated to take risks in learning, and more willing to persevere through difficult tasks.\r\n\r\nOverall, your support has made a lasting difference in our classroom. The Soft Start STEM Activities have not only improved mornings—they have provided a foundation for student engagement, confidence, collaboration, and social-emotional growth. Students arrive at school ready to learn, explore, and grow, and I am so grateful that your generosity made this possible. Thank you for helping create a classroom environment where students begin every day feeling supported, inspired, and excited to learn. Your donation has truly impacted our students' daily experience in meaningful and lasting ways.","fullyFundedDate":1669325628288,"projectUrl":"project/soft-start-stem-activities/6589100/","projectTitle":"Soft Start STEM Activities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Flannigan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8073844"},{"teacherId":5797446,"projectId":9261480,"letterContent":"My students have absolutely loved the Fun Motor Friday activities!
