A quiet place that is intentional for a child to develop a love of literacy, or a place to quiet their thoughts and regulate their bodies to become "present" will develop a mind and soul that flourishes and is ready to learn. A mindful space creates a safe place to learn and thrive. By incorporating a cozy nook that can be utilized by all my students, both general education and students with ASD, will help create more opportunities for inclusion to nurture our kindergarten classroom family of caring for ourselves and others. This cozy nook will be a start to a classroom environment that is warm, welcoming, intentional, safe, and provide for students' needs. I know it will be a forever memory of kindergarten!
