One exciting moment was watching students race with the fins for the first time and seeing how much more confident and motivated they became. They were thrilled to use professional-quality equipment like the swimmers they look up to, and it brought a new level of energy and excitement to practice.\r\n\r\nThe students were very excited when the fins arrived. Many of them had never trained with this type of equipment before, and they could not wait to try it out. The fins have already helped students focus on proper body position and stronger kicks while also making practices more engaging and fun.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the season, our next steps are to use the fins during advanced drills and endurance sets to help students build stronger swimming skills and prepare for upcoming competitions. Your generosity has turned an ordinary reading experience into something truly magical for our cheetahs.\r\n\r\nAs a teacher, one of the greatest joys I experience is watching students connect with stories — seeing their curiosity spark, their imaginations light up, and their confidence as readers grow. The Harry Potter series has a special way of doing all three. Thanks to your support, that door is now wide open as the books are extremely accessible.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes arrived, the excitement in the classroom was unbelievable. These texts have opened doors to lessons on analyzing characters, exploring history, and connecting with real-life heroes. My students are practicing skills like predicting, summarizing, and making inferences, but they are also learning something bigger—how to see themselves in stories and how reading connects us to the wider world. For deaf students, having access to engaging, relevant books builds both language and confidence, and it shows them that their voices and experiences belong in the world of literature.\r\n\r\nReading time in our classroom is now one of the most joyful parts of the day. Students settle in with their books, sometimes reading independently, other times signing their favorite parts to classmates. The room feels alive with discussion and curiosity. They are learning not just how to decode words, but how to love stories, how to imagine, and how to share their thoughts with others.\r\n\r\nOne of my students who was once hesitant to pick up a book now races to grab the new biographies we received—she proudly shares facts she has learned about leaders and trailblazers, signing them to her peers with a big smile. Another student who usually prefers to write rather than read has been drawn into our new graphic novels, connecting with the illustrations and storytelling in a way that makes reading feel more accessible and fun.
