Because of your generosity, these resources have been used in powerful and very real ways. The food has supported hungry students in our school, been included in appreciation gift bags for shelter staff, and filled 125 kindness bags for local nurses. One especially meaningful moment was when students helped assemble the bags and talked about who would receive them and why it mattered. They were able to connect classroom conversations about kindness and community care to real people who often put others first.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reaction was immediate and heartfelt. Many were excited, but more importantly, they were thoughtful. Students asked questions about where the food would go, who needed it most, and how it could help someone get through a hard day. Several students shared personal connections, explaining times when food support or small acts of kindness made a difference for them or their families. That openness helped create a deeper sense of empathy and purpose around the project.\r\n\r\nNext, students are continuing to build on this work through lessons focused on service, compassion, and community impact. They are reflecting on how meeting basic needs like food connects to mental health, learning, and overall well-being, and they are brainstorming future ways they can support others with limited resources. This project has shown them that kindness can be practical, organized, and ongoing, not just a one-time act. Thank you for giving our students the opportunity to learn that their actions truly matter.","fullyFundedDate":1761064273466,"projectUrl":"project/snacks-to-fight-hunger-and-encourage-kin/9810615/","projectTitle":"Snacks to Fight Hunger and Encourage Kindness","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7943894_orig.jpg?crop=332,332,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1630267664438","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/heather-rick"},{"teacherId":7943894,"projectId":9783624,"letterContent":"The support this project made a meaningful and immediate impact on the Bay Area Women's Center and our students. With the funded supplies, students worked together to rake and weed the playground and surrounding yard, transforming the space into a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming area for children at the shelter. This hands-on service experience helped students see the direct results of their effort and understand how small actions can make a big difference in their community.\r\n\r\nIn addition, students created mental health gift bags for shelter staff as a way to show appreciation for the emotionally demanding work they do every day. This part of the project opened important conversations about mental health, compassion, and gratitude, while allowing students to give back in a personal and thoughtful way. Thanks to donor support, students not only improved a shared space but also built empathy, responsibility, and a deeper connection to the needs of those around them.","fullyFundedDate":1759871620652,"projectUrl":"project/nhs-students-give-back/9783624/","projectTitle":"NHS Students Give Back","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7943894_orig.jpg?crop=332,332,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1630267664438","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/heather-rick"},{"teacherId":2788856,"projectId":9521030,"letterContent":"My students were so excited to receive our new supplies.
