The mints, tissues, hygiene items, and snacks are in constant rotation. On any given day, you'll find students stopping by before class to grab lotion for dry winter hands, picking up a hair tie before gym, or quietly asking for deodorant after gym class. One moment that really stuck with me happened just this week: a student asked for deodorant and then paused and said, \"Wait... I can actually keep this?\" When I told them yes, the relief and gratitude on their face said everything. These small items remove barriers to confidence and help students stay focused on learning instead of worrying about basic needs.\r\n\r\nThe fully stocked bins and baskets signaled to my students that someone beyond our school walls cares about their comfort and dignity. Many students expressed simple but heartfelt appreciation which include lots of \"thank you's,\" relieved smiles, and repeat visits from students who know my office is a reliable, judgment-free resource. Creating a hanging tissue basket is especially popular right away during this cold and flu season, and them knowing I have a mint bin has become a daily stop for students with upset stomachs or just needing a quick refresh between classes.\r\n\r\nAfter-school students who stay for extra help or activities now have access to snacks, which helps sustain their energy and focus. Students experiencing unexpected accidents can quickly and discreetly access clean underwear and hygiene supplies, allowing them to return to class with confidence instead of embarrassment. The impact is immediate and practical, but also deeply emotional for many of our kids.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping me to create a nursing office that doesn't just respond to illness. My office is so much more as it supports dignity, confidence, and readiness to learn. Your kindness shows up in hundreds of small student moments every single week, and it truly matters.","fullyFundedDate":1770509570639,"projectUrl":"project/be-a-health-office-hero/9799463/","projectTitle":"Be a Health Office Hero!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vargas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9252586_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720479803435","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9252586"},{"teacherId":2698998,"projectId":9214874,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support of our computer science event!
