Because this project was funded near the end of the school year and summer vacation followed, we have not yet been able to complete the full student business project.\r\n\r\nThis semester, students will use these materials to design and create custom tumblers, calculate production costs, determine pricing, develop marketing strategies, and prepare their products for sale. They will experience the entire process of taking an idea from concept to customer while practicing teamwork, communication, financial literacy, and other workplace skills.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, students will learn that a business can be about more than making a profit—it can also be a way to give back. A portion of their work will focus on using entrepreneurship to make a positive difference in their school or community.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly excited to put these materials to work this semester, and I look forward to sharing photos of our students and their finished products as the project comes to life. Many students were amazed that they would be creating a real product from start to finish rather than simply reading about entrepreneurship in a textbook.\r\n\r\nThroughout the project, students worked collaboratively to build PosiGlow Wicks, our student-run candle company. They learned the importance of planning, organization, communication, and teamwork as they moved through each stage of the process. Students participated in product development, candle production, branding, logo creation, marketing, packaging, and presentation preparation. They quickly discovered that creating a successful business requires patience, attention to detail, problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively with others. As the freshmen, juniors, and seniors in my classroom are tasksed with keeping their own personal laptops, they are very responsible in bringing the laptop in, however, they are often times forgetting their charger. Our school does not have the extra funds needed to replace or even supplement the chargers kids are missing or accidentalyl lost. This project has given my kids the opportunity to at least have access to a charger that gives them access to their school laptop which is where the majority of their work is. Students in my class have taken the chargers to borrow for the day, including when they are doing their duel enrollment classes or their AP exams. \r\n\r\nIn addition, the lined paper has been already so helpful. In an effort to increase cognitive development and to avoid the useof AI, I am always encouraging and requiring my students to write on paper and this has become something we are so used to that the paper almost immediately ran out! Students were so happy to have mroe lined paper so they can continually work on their success in my class and others. The disinfecting wipes were so helpful during the winter time to avoid the spread of sickenss and germs and now that the weather is getting nicer, it's a great way to help keep the classroom from getting funky with student sweat, etc. \r\n\r\nI know my students are grateful for your contribution to our classroom and their success.
