Throughout the year, students work hard on writing projects, including weather expert books, fairy tales, and other creative pieces. With this machine, students will be able to bind their finished work into actual books that look and feel like the ones they find in a library or bookstore.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is being able to see their hard work turned into something they can hold, share, and keep. Instead of simply turning in a paper assignment, they will become published authors! They will be able to share their books with classmates, bring them home to show their families, and celebrate the progress they have made as writers.\r\n\r\nThis project is especially meaningful for my English learners, who are continuously building their English vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Having a finished book to show off gives them a meaningful purpose for their writing and helps build confidence in their abilities. It also encourages students who may struggle with writing to take pride in their work and see themselves as successful authors. We will even be able to have parent showings of their work! \r\n\r\nThis machine will help make writing more engaging, meaningful, and rewarding for my students. It will become a space where students can read, write, work on math, collaborate, and share ideas with one another.\r\n\r\nThis table will also help create a more organized and flexible classroom by reducing the amount of clutter around our desks. Instead of having students keep all of their materials and projects at their individual desks, they will be able to spread out and work at the round table when they need additional space. My students will have more ownership over where and how they work, while still having a classroom environment that is structured and supportive.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to get the table into our daily routines and teach students how to use the different workspaces responsibly. I am excited to see my students take advantage of this new space as we begin our many reading, writing, and hands-on learning projects throughout the year.
