A few years ago, I took a new job as a science specialist. We had beautiful lab benches, but not appropriate seating. With your generosity, we were able to outfit each table with four lab stools. \r\n\r\nThe stools are both developmentally appropriate and allow children the choice of whether to sit or stand. When standing at the lab benches, the students can push their stools under the table. This allows room for folks to easily maneuver around the tables. After noticing how excited my students were to learn how to sew and create fiber based artwork, I knew they would love to expand their creative potential with access to sewing machines.\r\n\r\nThis year's Fiber Arts elective class started recently and throughout the past few weeks, my students have learned to navigate and use the machines. So far, students have completed a practice sewing assignment where they have learned to change stitches, sew straight and curved lines, change direction, and set up their machines independently.\r\n\r\nStudents are so excited to begin our first machine sewing project soon, where we will be creating tote bags!
