Students have been using the mannequins, combs, magnetic rollers, markers, and poster paper during our haircutting and styling lessons to strengthen both their technical and creative skills. One memorable classroom project involved students working in teams to compare different haircutting techniques by creating visual posters and then demonstrating the styles on mannequins. The markers and poster paper allowed students to map out haircutting angles, elevation, and sectioning patterns, while the mannequins and tools gave them the chance to immediately apply what they learned in a practical way. Seeing students connect theory to real practice has been incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were genuinely excited and grateful. Many of them immediately began discussing ideas for hairstyles, projects, and ways to improve their techniques. The mannequins especially created a sense of excitement because students understood they would now have more opportunities to practice independently and build confidence before working on live clients. The classroom atmosphere instantly became more energetic and engaging, and students who are usually hesitant to participate became eager to get involved.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these resources in larger collaborative projects focused on haircutting, styling, and chemical texture services. Our next steps include having students create salon-style presentations and hands-on demonstrations where they explain techniques, show proper tool usage, and practice professional communication skills. These materials are helping students prepare not only for state board requirements, but also for real careers in the beauty industry. We are so thankful to our donors for investing in our students' education, confidence, and future opportunities. Your generosity is truly making a difference in our classroom every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1769178281149,"projectUrl":"project/where-creativity-meets-career-cosmetolo/10000250/","projectTitle":"Where Creativity Meets Career: Cosmetology Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Price","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp683592_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1738894466159","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/683592"},{"teacherId":8499530,"projectId":9860677,"letterContent":"This project positively impacted my SPED classroom by increasing overall student engagement and participation. Since receiving the materials, we've been able to incorporate them into our daily lessons in a way that truly supports student engagement and productivity. The students were so excited when they saw everything being unpacked their faces lit up, and their energy instantly shifted. It was clear that the new supplies gave them a sense of motivation and pride in their work.\r\n\r\nThe snacks have been especially helpful. Many of our students come to class hungry or lacking the energy needed to stay focused. Having snacks available has made a huge difference in their ability to function during instructional time. They are more alert, more willing to participate, and better able to complete their assignments without becoming overwhelmed or disengaged.\r\n\r\nOverall, these resources have enhanced both the learning environment and the students' confidence in themselves. I am truly thankful for this blessing and for the support that makes it possible. It has not only eased the day-to-day challenges but has also created a more positive and productive atmosphere for all of us.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity.
