The availability of snacks helped address this need, giving students the energy to remain focused and engaged throughout the assessment. Students expressed sincere appreciation, often noting that they had not eaten before testing. This support made them feel cared for, encouraged, and valued. This act of generosity ensured that more students benefited and fostered a positive and supportive testing environment. The presence of snacks contributed to improved morale, reduced anxiety, and increased student readiness and participation. The availability of snacks served as an incentive and support, encouraging attendance and helping remove barriers for students who might otherwise have been disengaged or absent. The DonorsChoose-funded snacks functioned not just as nourishment but as an equity-driven intervention. It was greatly appreciated.","fullyFundedDate":1774452407483,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-success-snacks-for-algebra-1-mc/10162752/","projectTitle":"Fueling Success: Snacks for Algebra 1 MCAP Achievement","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Guardacasa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2866306"},{"teacherId":7392951,"projectId":9128182,"letterContent":"My heartfelt thanks for your generous support, which has made a remarkable difference in our school. These markers have been especially beneficial for our special needs students and multilingual learners, helping them grasp complex concepts and feel more included. Your generosity has also allowed us to provide snacks during the clubs I sponsor, significantly boosting morale and fostering a sense of community among our students. This project was called Abstract Quotes. Along with implementing the colored pencil techniques, students chose 2-5 inspirational quotes that resonated with them. I am very pleased with the outcome of most of the student projects.\r\n\r\nBecause the Prismacolor pencils produce a smoother, more intense saturation of color, my students were really excited when they first started using them. They noticed the difference in hue intensity when compared to the regular Crayola colored pencils we normally use to practice with and for minor assignments. They are really excited to use them for future projects, like portraits, landscapes, etc., that show the beautiful diversity of our world.","fullyFundedDate":1743517251476,"projectUrl":"project/creative-expression-celebrating-diversit/9203727/","projectTitle":"Creative Expression Celebrating Diversity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Torres","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7391525_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y176&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1598376996932","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7391525"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65025","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1562,"numTeachers":90,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":50,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":54.6,"schoolId":65025,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Oxon Hill High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Oxon Hill High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/prince-george-s-county-public-schools/oxon-hill-high-school/65025"}
