Many of my students are English Language Learners that need additional support to grasp concepts and understand assignments. I would like to start using art and pictures coupled with activities to help build their skill level. The lessons can be challenging for students who are having a hard time understanding the language. So, with a little E&A, I will use activities and lessons from the books to help bridge the gap and help my ELL students gain more knowledge. For example, students will use the cards to build sentences before writing them on paper. With role playing activities, the activity cards will allow students to practice skills in the class - reading and comprehension, while having fun. In addition, art can be therapeutic and support the social-emotional side of my students who are dealing with other pressures and stress beyond my classroom. Students will use the crayons and markers for in class assignments and completing projects. Lastly, since my students like slime, students will use the slime kits to practice their English skills and build strong conversational skills while having fun.
