Your kindness and willingness to invest in education are making a meaningful difference in the lives of our learners. Because of your generosity, our classroom is becoming a place where students can explore, discover, and develop a genuine love for mathematics through engaging, hands-on experiences.\r\n\r\nMath manipulatives are much more than classroom supplies—they are powerful learning tools that help students transform abstract mathematical concepts into concrete understanding. With your support, students will have access to base-ten blocks, fraction tiles, counters, place value disks, geometric shapes, number lines, and other interactive materials that encourage active participation in learning. These resources allow students to visualize mathematical ideas, build confidence, and strengthen problem-solving skills in ways that traditional worksheets alone cannot accomplish.\r\n\r\nEvery child learns differently, and hands-on materials provide opportunities for all students, including visual, tactile, and kinesthetic learners, to experience success. Your donation helps create an inclusive learning environment where students can explore concepts, ask questions, collaborate with classmates, and deepen their mathematical thinking. As students manipulate objects and engage in meaningful discussions, they build critical reasoning skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nIn addition to supporting academic growth, your contribution also provides rewards that celebrate student effort, perseverance, and engagement. Positive reinforcement plays an important role in motivating students to stay focused, take risks, and develop a growth mindset. Whether students earn recognition for mastering a challenging concept, demonstrating teamwork, showing persistence, or maintaining a positive attitude, these rewards encourage them to continue striving for excellence.\r\n\r\nThe excitement generated by these incentives helps create a classroom culture where learning is celebrated. Students become more eager to participate, complete assignments, and challenge themselves because they know their hard work is valued. The combination of engaging math manipulatives and meaningful rewards fosters an environment where students feel confident, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.\r\n\r\nYour generosity extends far beyond the materials you have helped provide. You have invested in opportunities, confidence, and hope. Every manipulative placed in a student's hands and every reward earned through perseverance represents your belief in the potential of our children. Your support reminds students that there are caring individuals who believe in their ability to succeed and are willing to invest in their future.\r\n\r\nAs educators, we are grateful for partners like you who understand the importance of providing students with the resources they need to thrive. Your donation allows us to create engaging lessons, differentiate instruction, and provide enriching experiences that make mathematics meaningful and enjoyable. Because of you, students are not only learning math—they are developing confidence, curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for learning.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for helping us build a classroom where every learner has the opportunity to succeed. Your generosity will have a lasting impact on countless young minds, and we are truly honored by your support. We deeply appreciate your compassion, commitment, and dedication to education.\r\n\r\nPlease accept our heartfelt thanks for making a difference. Your investment in our classroom today is helping shape the problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and future leaders of tomorrow. We are sincerely grateful for your generosity and partnership, and we look forward to sharing the many successes your support has made possible.\r\n\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1724102592769,"projectUrl":"project/math-and-rewards/8670189/","projectTitle":"Math and Rewards","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Vickers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9113636_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694957217170","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9113636"},{"teacherId":3020477,"projectId":9463700,"letterContent":"The math stackers kit has helped my students tremendously. I am able to model addition word problems where there is a missing part. The stackers helps them build the equation for the word problem then allows them to confirm their models based on my questions and the context of the word problems. Recently, my first graders were able to use the stackers to solve addition joining word problems. \r\n\r\nWhen they modeled the two numbers for the problem, they are able to count the ridges on the side of the stackers to help them with their answers. Some students still struggle with counting on. Visually seeing the number and counting the ridges on the side of the second number has increased their number sense. As we move from one-to-one counting and use counting on, this helps my students understand and practice using efficient strategies.\r\n\r\nThe stackers are the first math tools my students grab. They were very excited when we received them and they love building number towers with them. They will continue to use the stackers to strengthen their addition and subtraction skills and learn skills like multiplication.","fullyFundedDate":1761600682865,"projectUrl":"project/critical-thinking-with-foam-numbers/9463700/","projectTitle":"Critical Thinking With Foam Numbers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3020477_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1483386349455","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3020477"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64956","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":526,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":6,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":90,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.5,"schoolId":64956,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lewisdale Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lewisdale Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/prince-george-s-county-public-schools/lewisdale-elementary-school/64956"}
