It has already made such a wonderful difference in our kindergarten classroom. It has created a bright, welcoming space where my students can gather, learn, share ideas, and feel comfortable being themselves.\r\n\r\nWe use our rug every day during whole-group lessons, read-alouds, morning meetings, songs, and classroom discussions. One of our favorite moments is gathering together on the rug for our read-aloud. The students sit together, listen to the story, make predictions, and share their thinking with one another. It has become a special place where we build our classroom community and learn together.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, my students will use this space for many more learning experiences. We will gather on the rug for literacy and math lessons, practice working together, and share our learning with our classmates. It gives us a comfortable space to learn while also helping my students develop important skills like listening, taking turns, communicating, and being part of a community.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has done more than provide us with a rug—it has helped create a classroom environment where my students feel excited to come together and learn. Your generosity has made a real difference in how I teach and how my students learn.\r\n\r\nThe iPad allows me to model math problems directly on the board in real time. Instead of simply explaining a strategy, I can write, draw, highlight, and solve problems step by step while students follow along. This makes abstract math concepts much more concrete and helps students understand not just the answer, but the thinking behind it.\r\n\r\nMy students have been especially excited because the lessons feel more interactive and engaging. Being able to clearly see each step of the problem-solving process has increased participation, sparked more questions, and encouraged students to explain their own mathematical thinking.\r\n\r\nThe biggest impact has been on students who need extra visual support or benefit from seeing a problem solved multiple ways. They are more confident when attempting independent work because they can refer back to the strategies we modeled together. I've also noticed that students are more willing to participate in class discussions because they have a clearer understanding of the concepts.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom and giving my students another tool to help them succeed. Your generosity is making a difference every day.","fullyFundedDate":1762267714810,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-students-with-technology-to-a/9628680/","projectTitle":"Empowering Students with Technology to Advance Math for Multicultural Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Zhou","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7704930_orig.jpg?crop=1076,1076,x3,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755658099222","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7704930"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64756","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":825,"numTeachers":46,"percentFrplEligible":19,"percentAsian":29,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":39,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":6,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":73.5,"schoolId":64756,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Farmland Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Farmland Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/montgomery-county-public-schools/farmland-elementary-school/64756"}
