Hatching our own chicks was an amazing experience. My students loved learning about the life cycle of a chicken. We learned about the physical components of an egg that make the growth of a baby chick possible! We candled eggs and tracked their development. We then took care of the baby chicks for about a week or so until they were off to their new home. The brooder was a wonderful and excellent addition to have for this unit!
