Pre-K is an opportunity for all children to work on developing their social skills. Having developmentally appropriate and positive social skills is essential for children to enter kindergarten and be a successful learner. Providing a sensory table in my classroom offers students to develop their social skills while engaging in a sensory experience that can provide a calming and relaxing experience. Many of my students enjoy hand on learning in water, sand, deer corn, rice and so much more! Academic skills, such as math, science and literacy are also incorporated into the sensory table to provide a learning opportunity. I am confident the students in my classroom will benefit from this!
