Our school has been fortunate enough to be working with an outdoor learning consultant over the past two years which has given me a chance to see outdoor lessons in action as well as share ideas and materials for how to help young children to be safe and successful when we take our learning outside.\r\n Thanks to your support, I've been able to get several more warm, waterproof seats for our classroom. This makes outdoor learning available to us even in the coldest of months (and we sure have a lot of those with our Maine winters!) I am also so thankful for the many field guides that were also funded through this project. The field guides have been of great interest to the class as they look through the real photographs of birds, insects, mammals, rocks, trees, and wildflowers. These guides have led to several discussions of what animals and plants can be found in our local habitats and what kinds of things we could be on the lookout for as we take out learning outside.
