The excitement of my student's was palpable. \r\n\r\nWhen the boxes came in a few months ago, they were extremely curious about what was in the box. I kept telling them just wait. Well the wait was over and they were over the moon. \r\n\r\nWe learned, but also saw first hand, that buildings that are shorter have a better chance of surviving seismic activity. When I was extending the lesson to how else we can reduce the impacts of earthquakes, some of my students were able to identify if a building sways or moves against the shaking it would have a better chance of surviving. \r\n\r\nWhen we finish learning about the natural hazards Earth's processes produce, we will still be able to pull out the earthquake simulators to show how some movements can change the way rocks look.
