Having 6 tablets in our classroom would greatly impact my students' learning in a positive way! As a Title1 school, we are limited on the resources available for our students. Many of my students come from a low-income home and families are supportive, but unable to provide them with additional educational resources at home. I strive to make my classroom one that is both engaging and focused on incorporating 21st-century technology skills. Although we do have desktop computers in my classroom, they are very limited and do not provide all of my students with the opportunity to engage in educational apps, literary websites and tools that can really push them to the next academic level.
My students would love the ability to use tablets to access numerous educational apps and websites focused on reading. I have a wide range of reading levels and academic abilities in my classroom. Having these tablets would open so many doors to accessing academic material that is specific to each students' academic needs. I am envisioning using reading websites such as ReadWorks, Common Lit, NewsELA, National Geographic, Scholastic and so many more engaging and literature-rich apps to benefit my students. This resource would absolutely impact my classroom in so many ways.
