Because of you, my classroom has been transformed into a space filled with creativity, problem-solving, and joyful learning.\r\n\r\nWe are using these new resources during our weekly coding block, where students work in small teams to design, build, and program their own robotic creations. One especially memorable moment was during our first challenge: students were asked to build a robot that could move forward and stop at a precise point. I watched as students tested, revised, debated, and encouraged one another—celebrating when their robot finally did exactly what they programmed it to do. That moment of success was entirely student-driven, and it was incredibly powerful to witness.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the LEGO Robotics kits, their reactions were priceless. There were gasps, wide eyes, and lots of excited chatter. Many students immediately began asking questions like, \"Can we build cars?\" and \"Do we get to program it ourselves?\" For some students, this was their first time seeing themselves as engineers or coders, and the excitement quickly turned into confidence as they realized they were capable of building and coding something real.\r\n\r\nNext, students are moving into more complex coding, layered with storytelling through (lego) sculpture. They will create scenes that tell a story and include movement, lights and sound. They will not only see themselves as engineers and coders, but see how those skills are an art and can expand their creation of art.\r\n\r\nThese kits will continue to support collaboration, perseverance, and critical thinking as students grow their skills over time.\r\n\r\nBy contributing to this project, you gave my students more than materials—you gave them opportunity, confidence, and a glimpse into what they can achieve. Thank you for investing in their learning and for giving them a peek into futures they are just beginning to imagine.\r\nWith sincere gratitude,\r\nCamille Russ","fullyFundedDate":1758656643087,"projectUrl":"project/coding-creativity-with-lego-robotics/9719274/","projectTitle":"Coding Creativity with Lego Robotics","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Camille","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp435858_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y386&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758055479576","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-russ"},{"teacherId":3096590,"projectId":9008459,"letterContent":"I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your kindness and generosity in providing our kindergarten classroom with a color printer and a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card. Your contribution has already made a remarkable impact on our classroom environment and the quality of learning experiences I can provide for my students. As a kindergarten teacher, I strive every day to create a warm, engaging, and enriching space where young children can learn and grow. With your help, I am now able to bring lessons to life in ways that would not have been possible without these resources.\r\nIn addition, the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card has opened doors to resources that save time and elevate the quality of instruction I can offer. Teachers Pay Teachers is a treasure trove of creative, teacher-tested resources, and with your donation, I was able to purchase interactive activities that make complex topics accessible and fun. I've downloaded literacy centers that focus on phonemic awareness and early reading skills, math activities that teach counting, patterns, and shapes in hands-on ways, and seasonal projects that help us celebrate holidays and special events as a classroom community.
