Our class is embarking upon an exploration of what it means to have a positive impact in the community. We are learning that the world is what we make it, and that each of us has a unique contribution to make. So we will be studying how communities work, learning about different ways in which people have had a positive impact in the world, and seeking to find our own voices and inspiration. These materials, media, books, and instruments, will give my students tools to explore their creative power to change the world. The books will provide rich foundations for exploration through reading, writing, and discussion. The speakers will allow us to delve into the transformative power of music. And the instruments will allow us to bring our creative powers into focus in a culminating performance!
