For many of our students, quality reeds are not something they can easily afford to purchase on their own, yet reeds are an essential part of producing a healthy, consistent sound on instruments such as clarinet and saxophone.\r\n\r\nBecause of this donation, students were able to have access to quality reeds without their families having to worry about the additional financial burden. Students who may have otherwise continued playing on worn-out, damaged, or poor-quality reeds were given the opportunity to play on equipment that allowed them to produce a better sound, improve their confidence, and participate more fully in rehearsals and performances.\r\n\r\nThe impact went far beyond simply providing supplies. These reeds removed a financial barrier between our students and their musical success. Students were able to focus on improving their tone, technique, and musicianship rather than worrying about whether they had a playable reed or had to just sit there for the class period because of not having a reed.\r\n\r\nThis donation also reinforced something we work hard to teach our students: they are worth investing in. Knowing that someone in our community cared enough to support their musical education helped our students feel valued and supported. Your generosity directly placed better musical tools into the hands of our students and gave them another opportunity to grow as musicians.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for this support. The books and materials purchased are directly impacting them. \r\n\r\nI have many students using the books to prepare solos for concerts and performances for the spring. Other students have created ensembles, and are so excited to perform with their friends. \r\n\r\nThe materials are going to be used with new students every year. This technology will help my students learn in a variety of ways. They will be able to listen to music, create classroom playlists, and watch educational videos at their own pace and speed. It will also allow them to watch videos in their own languages or with closed captions.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting thing about new headphones for my students in the sense of ownership they have over the classroom equipment. They are very touched and will be naming each one, decorating them, and assigning personality traits. I've found this method of personification leads to better care of classroom equipment and materials.\r\n\r\nThere are particular students who have especially warmed up to this new technology. The month of October is dedicated to students with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
